Service Description

Get ready to fuse creativity and color in this unique glass-fusing class! Using System 96 stringers and noodles, you’ll design and assemble a stylish plaid pattern to create a one-of-a-kind fused glass dish. Perfect for beginners and experienced glass artists alike, this class is a fun way to explore the art of kiln-formed glass. 🔸 Class Overview: In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to arrange thin glass rods (stringers) and flat glass strips (noodles) to create a plaid design full of texture and color. Guided by our expert instructor, you’ll experiment with layering, spacing, and alignment to achieve your desired look. After assembling your design, we’ll fire your piece in a kiln to fuse the glass into a smooth, functional dish that’s both decorative and practical. 💠 Class Process: Step 1: Design and layout. Select from a vibrant palette of System 96 stringers and noodles, then arrange them on a clear or colored glass base to create your plaid pattern. Step 2: Assembly and final touches. Secure your glass rods in place and refine your design, ensuring precise alignment for a clean, professional look. Step 3: Kiln firing. Leave your assembled piece with us, and we’ll fuse it in the kiln. Once fused, the glass will be slumped into a dish mold, giving it its final shape and smooth finish. 💸 Class Fee: $125 + Supplies (Glass is not included in the class fee but students receive 30% off their purchases!) Please bring your glass cutting and breaking tools & glass marking pens (Sharpies) Tools are available to rent if needed. ✅ What You’ll Learn: ✔ How to use System 96 stringers and noodles ✔ Techniques for creating plaid patterns with glass ✔ Proper spacing and alignment for fusing success ✔ The basics of kiln firing and slumping By the end of the class, you’ll have a stunning fused glass dish that’s perfect as a decorative accent or functional serving piece.
